More Digg Woes…

Not long after laying off 10% of their staff, Digg is putting another 25 heads on the chopping block.  (Beleaguered Digg announces more layoffs? - CNET) The company also lost CRO Chas Edwards earlier today. He is reportedly moving into the startup realm.

According to founder Kevin Rose, the company will be refocusing the Digg product and more announcements will be made tomorrow.

Company CEO Matt Williams attributes the cuts to the deep financial loss Digg is operating under right now. With these layoffs, the hope is that they will once again reach solvency in 2011.

This may not be enough to save Digg. Some think of Digg as a dinosaur in today's Twitter and Facebook world. Is Digg going to be able to come back? AOL was thought dead and is quickly coming back as a content provider, but does Digg have another avenue to take? Only time will tell.

HP launches Slate tablet
HP has just launched its Slate 500 tablet computer. The Slate has an 8.9-inch touch screen and runs Windows 7 Professional. Pricing is set at $800. The Slate is aimed at business users. HP will launch a consumer tablet later
