Three teens killed after appearing on Facebook hit list

A mysterious hit list containing 69 names has appeared on Facebook. The names belong to teens in Puerto Asis, Colombia. So far, three teens on the list have been killed. Police are investigating who created the list and why.

Viral Video: Fire Tornado

A rare fire tornado has been seen in the Brazilian state of Sao Paolo. A whirlwind of flame, spiralling several metres high, danced across burning fields, bringing traffic to a halt on a nearby highway. This unusual phenomenon has been caused by a combination of wildfires and strong dry winds following weeks of drought in the country. Authorities in Brazil are struggling to contain the fires and have banned farmers from burning waste from the sugar cane harvest.

Google vs the World… next up for destruction: Skype

U.S. based Gmail users will now be able to place and receive phone calls directly from the Gmail interface. Calls placed to U.S. and Canadian-based numbers are free, and if you need to make international calls, the rates are extremely cheap. It was fun while it lasted Skype. Google has some deep pockets, and although Skype is well entrenched, Google will take a big bite out of Skype revenues in the near future.

IE9’s leaked interface

Is this IE9’s new interface? Microsoft Russia’s press site, on August 25, posted information and a photo that seem to be connected to the coming IE 9 beta.

The screen shot (above) shows a navigation bar and fewer controls. There’s a back button, a combined URL - search box at the top. And that’s pretty much it. I don’t see menu items like “Favorites” or “Suggested Sites” or “Get More Add-Ons” (but maybe they’re still in there, somehow)… more on ZDnet
